He entered private practice in the Washington area with the firm of Sughrue, Mion, Zinn, MacPeak & Seas from 1986 until 1991. Before joining the firm in 1993, he took a two year sabbatical to pursue further technical and business education, and to develop his own inventions and their corresponding product lines.
He specializes in patent application drafting and prosecution in the complex electrical, electronic, computer, electro-mechanical, mechanical and semiconductor arts, including: computer hardware and software; microprocessors; chipsets; graphics; digital electronics; liquid crystal displays; communications, magnetic/optical processing and storage systems and magnetic/optical heads; semiconductor circuits, devices and processes; electromagnetic devices; laser devices; medical devices; X-ray, CAT scan, MRI systems; television; printers and photocopiers. He is also versed in state of the art, patentability and validity studies and opinions.
Professional memberships include the American Bar Association Patent and Trademark Section, American Intellectual Property Law Association, Massachusetts Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, and Bar Association of the District of Columbia.
He is admitted in Massachusetts, Pennsylvania and the District of Columbia. He is also registered to practice before the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
